Friends and Family Day @John C Campbell Folk School
The John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina is hosting —Friends & Family Day on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages. The school’s entire campus will be open for a fun day of making things and discovering more about the 94-year old Folk School.
Visitors of all ages will visit the studios and participate in free hands-on craft projects in basketry, black smithing, cooking, jewelry, beekeeping, weaving, woodworking, clay, painting, quilting, marbling, drawing, felt making, wood turning, woodcarving, and printmaking. John C. Campbell Folk School offers adults over 850 week long and weekend classes year-round in traditional and contemporary craft, art, music, dance, cooking, gardening, nature studies, photography, and writing. Founded in 1925 the non-profit school is a national landmark on the National Registry of Historic Places and features a continuing concert series, community dances, History Center, and Craft Shop, representing the work of over 500 juried regional and national artisans.
